My Client is a 300 staff UK engineering business with activities in the automation, controls & power systems sectors. The MV Power Switchgear division employs a team of Electrical Design Engineers, Electrical Applications Engineers, Electrical Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers and MV Service Engineers, all based from Head office in Bedfordshire.

The current requirement is for an Electrical Project Manager to join the MV Power Team working towards delivering medium voltage switchgear projects for a variety of industrial customers in the water, food and power sectors. The MV Electrical Project Manager is responsible for project delivery, always ensuring that time and cost constraints are adhered to as closely as possible in line with business objectives. This involves a number of elements ranging from: attending client meetings to agree objectives and timescales; technical employee co-ordination in tandem with the engineering manager as well as managing sub-contractors; producing and maintaining project details on MS Project; identifying & processing cost variations; producing financial forecasts; and producing purchasing requests where required. A full job spec including a range of subjects for the MV Electrical Project Manager is available on request.

We are seeking candidates who have several years’ experience and substantive knowledge of Medium Voltage projects (possibly involving switchgear or MCCs) ranging from 3.3KV up to 66KV. Most projects are usually between 3.3kv and 11kv. However we may look at Electrical Project Managers with LV experience as long as they have significant switchgear experience. Health & Safety is highly regarded in this business so we are also looking for a relevant qualification such as IOSHH Managing Safety or similar. You should also be IT literate and be a confident user of MS Project and Office. Other “advantageous” (but not essential) parts of the job spec include: Autocad, Eplan, Prince II qualification, CCSNG safety passport etc.
In terms of personal characteristics we are looking for candidates that are customer focused, collaborative, performance driven, organised, have a close attention to detail, be commercially minded (budgets) and have a positive “can do” attitude.

On offer is an excellent career with a company that is growing both organically and via acquisition, and also have the ability to further develop your skills. Remuneration includes a competitive base salary as well as company car, pension, life assurance, sick pay, 25 days holiday etc.

Some of the role (anticipated to be 20-40%), the remainder of the role is office based. The office is based in a lovely picturesque private estate in Bedfordshire and is easily commutable from: Bedford, Hitchin, Luton, Dunstable, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Biggleswade, Harpenden and Rushden.

****THIS ROLE IS ONLY OPEN TO UK/EU CITIZENS OR THOSE CANDIDATES WHO ALREADY POSSESS UNRESTRICTED WORK VISAS FOR THE UK
