We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join an ambitious & growing SME family run business, based in Sussex. Purchasing is a key function to the business. It is essential to ensure that the right supplies are purchased on time and that stock is kept to meet customer and business requirements, whilst not overstocking or purchasing un-required items.

Responsibilities:

* Establish & implement purchasing policies, procedures & best practices

* Negotiate contractual rates, terms or deals with suppliers

* Source new suppliers & vendors appropriate to business needs & cost reduction

* Stock forecast, manage documentation & schedules for import purchasing

* Chase suppliers for late deliveries & communicate delivery issues to relevant departments

* Resourcing certain suppliers when suppliers can't deliver

* Manage stock holding quantities according to current trends or customer demand

* Oversee the operations & daily activities of the department

Requirements:

* Background in Purchasing is essential

* Experience handling import purchasing is desirable

* Good grasp of IT systems & Excel

* Ability to prioritise workload effectively & deliver tasks on time every time

* Solid negotiation & communication skills

Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible between 6.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday)
