Becoming a Finance Assistant with Employee Benefits:

The Finance Assistant will assist the Finance Team Leaders within a team in the provision of Pension Fund Financial Services to designated Pension Scheme Clients. This is a varied, entry level role with good scope for progression in a fast paced, team focused environment.

What you will do:


As directed by the Finance Team Leaders process transactions on the pensioner administration and accounting systems in an accurate and timely manner

Communicate with all stakeholders in an effective, efficient and professional manner

Meet all deadlines for the provision of financial information, payments and statutory returns

Filing and associated “housekeeping” duties and any other reasonable duties.

Reconciliation of allocated TP scheme accounts.

Reconciliation of other allocated scheme accounts as directed

To produce high quality and accurate work on a consistent basis within designated timelines

The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

The ability to react positively to changing workloads and priorities.

Process complaints at the earliest opportunity with a positive attitude, addressing the true root cause and implementing effective corrective action in order to prevent re-occurrence

Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to your line manager and/or the Operational Risk and Compliance Department

Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes and reduce potential complaints and business risks

Adhere to the ISO and investors in People standards, Quality Management System and comply with pensions and FSA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

Your experience will include:


Minimum Grade C GCSE in Maths & English

Competent with Excel and Word

Good communication skills, written & verbal

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and quality

Ideally some accounts administration / basic accounting experience

Desire to pursue an accounting qualification, ie AAT, as support will be provided
