Christmas. A time to relax, spend time with family and reflect on the year that has passed. You're full of optimism for the year ahead and then you hear those dreaded words - '4 on 4 off'. 'Night shift'.

12 hours of putting your expanded Christmas frame up and down ladders, in confined spaces and fixing machines that haven't been invested in since Santa was just a boy.

What if there was another way? A role where you're just working days and can still get home in time to watch The Chase.

My client might not be Santa Claus but he's a decent engineering manager. He understands that you want a life outside of the factory walls. When you're there, he wants commitment but he has a built a team that have a laugh, are highly skilled and don't take themselves too seriously. Oh, and they're pretty good at making sure machines don't break down. You probably will be too.

You'll need to be ready to work 6-3pm and have gone through a HNC/NVQ3 or a recognised apprenticeship. If you've got your 17th edition, great, if not, don't worry, its only a 2 day course.

So, if you're someone who is pretty good at finding faults, grumbling about night shifts and want to see more of the sunshine during the day, then I hear Spain have some great opportunities. If you live in Kent, and only care about the first two, then get in touch
