A World Class Automotive manufacturing company have a new opportunity for a NPI Quality Engineer to join their team. This would suit an experienced NPI Quality Engineer who has experience working within a fast paced environment, ideally Automotive. Competitive salary and excellent benefits package

As a NPI Quality Engineer you will offer effective support to the Commercial/NPI Team in relation to supplier development and supplier quality management. To ensure all documentation is completed in line with our procedures for supplier development and supplier performance management To ensure excellent communication between our suppliers and the team, with the objective of reducing the number of supplier concerns by using robust analysis techniques & Successful project introduction with external supply partners.

As a NPI Quality Engineer key responsibilities will include:

* To support health, safety and environmental action plans, agreed by the company to ensure a safe working environment for all employees by conducting, delegating and auditing risk assessments. Ensuring the introduction of appropriate measures to address highlighted issues and thus respecting all legal and policy requirements
* To reduce the number of supplier concerns
* To consistently achieve the quality standards as determined by the customer, adhering to the company’s quality procedures and standards, thereby ensuring continued TS 16949 registration
* To ensure departmental and company procedures are aligned with the quality standards as determined by the customer and adhering to the company’s quality procedures thereby ensuring continued TS 16949 registration
* To develop a cross-functional teamwork approach involving all departmental disciplines
* To constantly monitor and analyse supplier performance and implement continuous improvements with our suppliers and partners
* To devise and maintain a continuous training and development plan in order to achieve the business goals and in line with business growth
* To constantly improve and develop the suppliers and subcontractors to ensure an efficient operation with all the necessary documentation so as to achieve full ongoing improvements in supplier performance
* To liaise with all suppliers, externally and internally, as required
* Preparation, monitoring and analysis of agreed KPI’s
* To ensure that adequate cover is maintained during any holiday periods
* To assist the Commercial Director in the construction and achieving of the operational budgets
* To challenge current convention
* To carry out any other duties, relevant to the post which may arise

To be successful in the role of NPI Quality Engineer you will have the following experience and key skills:

* Demonstrable experience of implementing Continuous Improvements
* An HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Production Engineering
* TS16949 / ISO 14001 / ISO 18001 procedures
* Experience of supplier Audits TS16949 Lead Auditor qualified.
* Understanding of metrology techniques (both contact and non-contact)
* Some metallurgical understanding of steel
* Knowledge of automotive industry
* Manufacturing / production experience (in-depth experience of production planning and lean manufacturing)
* Knowledge of the manufacturing processes associated with tube manufacture and subsequent processes
* Supplier liaison experience
* Excellent analytical and practical problem solving skills
* Financial awareness
* Previous experience of developing suppliers
* Comprehensive IT skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
* The ability to demonstrate and challenge convention and lateral thinking in the pursuit of continuous improvement
* Experience of supplier Audits TS16949
* Understanding of metrology techniques (both contact and non-contact)
* Some metallurgical understanding of steel
* Knowledge of automotive industry
* Manufacturing / production experience (in-depth experience of production planning and lean manufacturing)
* Knowledge of the manufacturing processes associated with tube manufacture and subsequent processes

Liaison with all levels as necessary both internally and externally when required. Communication can take any form in order to obtain and exchange information and resolve queries

A reasonable amount of travel will be required mainly within the EU

This location is accessible from Leicester, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Coventry, Tamworth and Lutterworth
