We are currently representing a well-known insurance broker in the City in their search for a Senior Management Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, complete and accurate processing of transactions in core ledgers and safeguarding for financial resources of the Group.

As more of a general accounting role, it will be suit someone not specifically looking for an insurance role. As a senior position in the finance team, strong leadership and man-management skills are an absolute must.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the production of the monthly management accounts for all Group subsidiaries including commentaries.
Prepare annual budgets & forecasts for Group companies.
Prepare Statutory Accounts for Group companies under FRS 102.
Prepare reports in accordance with agreed timetables.
Manage and oversee the process of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations on all ledgers
Business partnering with the Group departmental heads.
Manage the preparation of all schedules for corporation tax reporting
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Manage and develop, Assistant Management Accountants, Trainee Accountant, Credit Controller, Accounts Assistant and Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Review and improvement of existing reporting processes to enhance the robustness of procedures and controls.
Undertake any other responsibilities that may become necessary of the proper performance of the role.
Security Administrator on Group bank accounts.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:

A Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with relevant and significant post qualified experience.
A Proactive self-starter.
Proven people management skills and experience.
Experience of preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 102
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at every level.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, including advanced Excel skills
Experience of Reporting into a US Parent company and US GAAP knowledge preferable
