Financial Planning Analyst, Dudley.

Our client is a highly successful international business with operations throughout the World. It is seeking to recruit an experienced accountant to join its team

This role is responsible for financial planning, analysis and management reporting for a UK based Business unit. The role involves working closely with the Management, Sales and Operations teams providing reporting and support as appropriate. The jobholder also needs to ensure the integrity of the control environment for the UK&I based business and the application of Group policies and procedures. The role will involve some travel to UK sites mainly Middlesborough and Malton.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsibility for the Financial Reporting in the UK
* Part of team responsible for Month End closing to a strict 3-day timetable
* Ensuring the integrity of the period financial reporting
* Preparation of Monthly rolling forecasts for the UK business unit
* Assistance with Preparation of annual budgets and Mid-Year reviews for the business unit
* Monthly Project reviews of all projects for the business unit
* Monitoring actual performance versus budgets/forecasts and reviewing/commenting on variances.
* Input of month end results and forecast to Hyperion
* Timely and accurate response to all questions from the European Business Unit
* Reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts for UK business unit. Provision of management information for Sales and Operations management
* Providing guidance and support to the Projects and Service operations of the UK based business including the monitoring and control of Projects, Recoveries and Inventory management.
* Support for the statutory and regulatory reporting.
* Working closely as part of the UK&I FPA team and assisting UK&I Project Accounting Manager as required.
* Occasional weekend/public holiday working is a requirement of the role
* Willingness to travel (up to 20% of role, mainly UK - Middlesborough and Malton)
* Process standardisation of procedures into line with UK sales company

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Finalist or newly Qualified ACMA/ACCA/ACA
* Proven relevant experience in a large commercial organisation, preferably with a manufacturing/engineering environment
* Excellent communication skills (telephone, face to face and written)
* Good presentation skills
* Ability to manage time and work to tight deadlines
* Business systems used include JD Edwards / Oracle, Hyperion HFM, Microsoft Office (Excel/Access/Word/Powerpoint)/Sage
