My clients well established busy designers and producers of men, women and children’s clothing are looking for an experienced Finance Controller/Manager

Monday – Friday 8.30am-5pm
Salary upto £50k DOE
Free Parking, 20 holiday + stats, pension

The Financial Controller must have done the following:
• Managing accounts staff and supervising day to day accounts processing regardless of the level or detail
• Preparation and completion of monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of the monthly MI and reporting pack including variance analysis and KPIs.
• Day to day cash flow management and reporting.
• Preparation of annual financial budgets and monthly flexed budgets.
• Working capital management.
• Managing import documentation and currency exchange risk with overseas suppliers.
• Managing invoice discounting facility and reporting
• Overseeing the preparation of VAT and Intrastat returns
• Managing payroll processing and PAYE.
• Development of the financial reporting systems and internal control procedures
• Able to automate systems as we have a lot of manual processers
• Preparation of annual financial reports.
• Liaising with the auditors.
• Beyond the financial function, there is an opportunity to further develop the company’s IT requirements as well as dealing with more general management and administrative aspects of the business dealing at all levels

Financial Controller profile and range of experience
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• At least 5 years at FC level in a similar business
• Pegasus experience would be useful
• Import documentation and process and managing currency exchange
• Inventory management and distribution
• Hands on and prepared to roll your sleeves up.
• Proven track record of performance reporting and producing management and statutory financial statements.
• Advanced Excel user and proficient in other MS Office products.
• Can pick up systems /programmes easily
• Proactive and self-motivated with excellent system skills.
• Good staff management skills
• Proven track record of performance and turnaround departments as we are consumed by backlog
• We are working on Navision therefore we feel it’s essential the candidate comes with Navision experience or alternatively be able to pick up easily if they are to command respect as the department manager.
• Must without doubt lead from the front and by example.

The candidate ideally must come from a Navision background
