Our client is currently recruiting for a Commercial Accountant to join their manufacturing business in the healthcare sector. You will provide a financial accounting service to the UK Healthcare Sites, ensuring good control and timely reporting and provide support and direction to the transactional finance team.

Responsibilities The key responsibilities are:


• Responsibility for analysis and reporting on the costing process
• Generating Costing for new products and development agreements
• Identifying anomalies in product cost structures and making amendments
• Carrying out annual cost planning
• Creating and communicating material & labour variance reports
• Preparing and reporting on monthly costings
• Preparing labour analysis and liaising with Operations
• Ensuring bill of materials are accurate
• Ensuring the quality of costing data throughout SAP


• To be the conduit between finance and operations at a site based level
• To liaise with the site on financial performance, monitoring of inventory and key site metrics
• To produce site based management reports covering GL and Cost Centres
• Financial validation of site projects and ongoing achievement against cost-out targets


• Work closely with site departments during the budget & forecasting cycles to facilitate data integrity and financial strategy
• To produce a monthly forecast covering both P&L and Balance Sheet
• To produce the site annual operation plan covering both P&L and Balance Sheet Validate and Measure the annual list of site cost out projects

Essential skills:

• BS degree in Accounting
• Robust financial modelling in excel
• Ability to drive strategic planning
• Excellent communication skills

Essential experience:

• 3-5 years of Cost Accounting knowledge, preferably in manufacturing
• Experience with SAP or other large ERP system
• Working knowledge of multi-level costings

Essential qualifications:

• Experience in a professional finance environment
• Experience in a multi-site manufacturing organisation
• Excellent data presentation skills both written and verbal
• Excellent prioritisation skills
• Ability to deliver within tight timelines
