This leading provider of Cloud Telephone Systems, part of a large industry group, currently has a great role for an entrepreneurial candidate who is looking to grow in a multifaceted technical role.

Working from their St. Albans office, located in the town centre, your primary duties will be to provide technical support remotely over the phone or on site at the customers' premises. Good communication skills and personal confidence are an important requirement because this is a customer facing role. The ideal candidate will be able to deal with technical enquiries demonstrating the ability to prioritise workload, good planning skills, initiative and high standards of customer care.

By joining a small team, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of activities including: installing electronic equipment, IP cabling, contributing to the company's daily operations and, of course, resolving technical problems. The successful candidate is likely to develop, with time, into a full senior technical engineer, with exposure to system integration, disaster recovery, and IP security.

Role Description:
- provide pre and post sales technical support to clients and resellers
- demonstrate products, highlighting benefits to prospective customers
- liaise with service providers to activate phone services or transfer existing numbers
- maintain the company's network and IT resources
- make recommendations on equipment and network architectures
- install new wiring and equipment at customer premises
- produce and update documentation

Requirements and Skills:

The successful candidate will most likely possess

- quantitative and problem solving skills
- a technical degree
- good communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English
- understanding of IP networks and IP devices
- excellent customer facing abilities
- experience in configuring and maintaining software systems and IT networks
- ability to prioritise workload and deliver to deadlines
- experience in deploying IP network equipment would be advantageous
- enthusiasm to gain new skills and learn about new technology

This is a permanent position, with an initial probationary period, paid business expenses, paid overtime and pension scheme. Relevant training will also be provided.

Because of the nature of the work you may be asked to travel to customer premises and therefore it will be beneficial to be based at commutable distance from St. Albans. Paid out of hours work may also be needed at times.
