Civils Project Manager - Water Industry - Chelmsford - Circa £40,000 Annual Salary + Company Car + 6% Matched Contributory Pension + 33 Days Holiday
Our client is a highly successful and rapidly growing company within the water industry. They provide a specialist service in all aspects of water care, analysis, treatment and associated equipment maintenance. These services include environmental management, energy management, plant and infrastructure maintenance and emergency response.
Due to business growth they are now looking for a Civils Project Manager to join an expanding team on a brand new AMP6 contract. The successful candidate will head up the civil side of this contract.
The Civil Project Manager will be responsible effective management of health & safety, optimisation of productivity, profitability of contracts, quality control of service delivery and liaison with clients and suppliers, as well as being involved in other M&E projects as and when required.
In this key role you will deliver, with the support of the operational team, a wide range of projects. You will work closely with the Contract Manager and operations team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required high standard. You will ensure all systems are adhered to and be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the tradesmen and/or subcontractors under your control ensuring the successful delivery of all projects. The role requires flexibility; the successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for efficient utilisation of the resource available and to deputise in the Contract Managers absence.
Qualified to at least HNC level in a civil engineering discipline
Able to display a sound understanding of Building and Civil Engineering practices
Knowledge of relevant Legislation and a general understanding of CDM Regulations
A working knowledge of mechanical engineering would be beneficial but not essential
Be a 'can do' person, who is flexible in approach with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to demonstrate an awareness of innovations in material and building technology
Great communication and customer care skills are considered essential
Have a full driving licence
Experience in managing a fast moving, operational delivery environment, where excellence in service is matched by a world class Health & Safety record would be advantageous
