Training: 3 weeks initial induction on product and systems. Then there is a great continuous training program.
Order Values: £200 - £15, 000 Thousand the aim is to sign your customers on an annual basis. An average order value is £700.00
The main focus is to gain advertising through partnering the customers and selling the Campaign solutions.
Selling advertising space across digital design and editorial. This role has transformed over the last 2 years from selling advertising space into the local paper, to a sophisticated sales role selling SEO (search Engine Optimization), digital media, web site design, gaining customers to run campaign advertising.
This role will suit a sales professional with a proven track record in hitting sales targets and deadlines, preferably within a media sales environment. The job role involves selling digital, design and editorial based adverts to both existing and new business. You should demonstrate a confident and professional approach, and be self-motivated and results/money driven.
- Achieve or exceed all individual sales targets, through the development of new and existing client relationships.
- Adhere to all target deadlines and production schedule deadlines.
- Ensure that all company policy and procedures are followed throughout the sales cycle.
- Ensure that all necessary administration is carried out in a timely manner.
- Grow our existing digital and website activity
- Maintain a high level of commercial awareness within the relevant marketplace and provide market intelligence / competitor information to your Manager.
- Attend client events as and when necessary to network and build relationships.
- Attend exhibitions to meet with clients and represent the magazine
Calling on average 5 companies per day, there are lots of potential with this role as this market has never been targeted.

Each external sales person will be working alongside a sales support person who will do the day to day order taking and administration of the accounts There will be an element of assisting in the design of the advertising campaign, completing a full fact finding session, understanding and exploring the customers’ needs and the matching a solution to the customer.. You'll be dealing with the decision maker of the business this can be anybody from the Office Manager, Director, Advertising manager, marketing and owner. You will also have the power to negotiate within the margins that you have. The key to selling Trinity Mirror to their customers is the concept and solution they can offer.
Market: This is selling into a huge range of markets retail and Leisure, Restaurants, Hotels, Leisure parks, Golf courses, and any type of business.
Split between New & Established: 40 % new business and 60% account management
Background: From a sales environment, ideally face to face Ability to carry out competitor and industry research.Excellent demonstration of communication, time management and organisational skills.Industry knowledge useful.
