We are currently looking for a maths/business or accountancy and finance graduate, for a graduate Accounts Assistant position within a long standing company. The successful candidate will be working with a long standing company who are proven to hold a good reputation amongst locals in the area, and are seen as a highly regarded employer.

Within this role as an Accounts Assistant, you will be an integral part of the finance team, ensuring all aspects of the profit & loss account and balance sheet are maintained. With experience you will then take on more responsibility and be able to perform further complex tasks.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will have a commercial nature and excellent interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be looking to complete a professional qualification in CIMA or ACCA.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns & EC sales list

  • All aspects of the profit & loss account maintenance

  • Issuing statements

  • Card and cash posting and reconciliation

  • Monthly payment run on supplier purchase ledger

  • Balance sheet maintenance

    Essential Requirements are:

    Must have a 2:1 or above in Mathematics/Accountancy & Finance/Business

  • Must want to complete a professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA
  • Understanding of Profit & Loss

  • Good with numbers and have an eye for detail

  • Ability to process volumes of transactions

  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet monthly deadlines.

  • Enthusiastic and hardworking personality

  • Sage line 50 knowledge would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given
