Technical Release Delivery Manager  to £65,000 plus financial  benefits – Canary Wharf

The Technical Release Delivery Manager is responsible for the quality of Release activities and deliverables for both new and existing services. The role will also oversee code and build management activities, throughout the service lifecycle, for new or changed services.

Key responsibilities for the role:

- Provide strategic and tactical direction on release and software configuration management processes throughout the service lifecycle, ensuring alignment to the overall 'Run' strategies in order to achieve objectives.
- Drive the adoption of automated code build & deployment practices for our core systems
- Manage a rolling portfolio of technical functional system releases,
- Identify release readiness activities, creating detailed implementation plans, managing deployment rehearsals and ensure live implementations are controlled and managed appropriately to agree governance controls i.e. attending the Release Control Board.
- Manage environment use, configuration, data and clear down with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Own the code and build management tooling including Subversion and Git on Teamforge platform, ACBD (Automated Code build and Deployment) infrastructure containing Jenkins, ANT, Maven and Nexus Repository Manager.

Experience for the role:-

- Experience of release, deployment and software configuration management processes. Experience within service management - ITIL accredited.
- Experience on the Agile and the waterfall development approach.
- Good experience on code branching, merging, tagging, versioning, building and deploying.
- Experience of Multi-supplier service delivery operating models, IT infrastructure release management in a multi-sourced IT supply chain model.
- Experience of Project planning, resource forecasting, financial management, incident resolution.
- Experience of implementing large IT functional and technical projects into a live environment via a defined release management process.
- Practical knowledge of configuration and code management in-line with industry best practice approaches.
- Experience working with Subversion and Git repositories, Jenkins, Maven and Nexus
- ITIL Service Transition certification would be useful as well as Practical knowledge.
- Project lifecycle and governance. Trained in PM methodology - (preferably Prince 2) with good knowledge of a portfolio, demand and service management functions.
- Experience of managing supplier obligations in a high profile and technically innovative enterprise solution.
