Domestic Supervisor vacancy, Manchester. 13 month fixed term contract, likely to turn permanent. £20K - £21K.

Your new company

You will work in the Manchester office for a well-known and highly regarded Facilities Management company. This company specialise in the construction and following facilities management of a number of purpose-built student accommodation buildings across the UK.

Your new role

As Domestic Supervisor, you will support the Assistant Domestic Coordinator by overseeing the work of between 8 and 15 cleaners. You will ensure that the facilities are kept to an exceptional standard, taking responsibility for training and coaching of cleaning staff as well as taking corrective measures where appropriate.

You will assist the Assistant Domestic Coordinator in the careful day-to-day planning and delivery of domestic services, providing all appropriate services to residents. You will also plan all staffing requirements, ensuring that all seasonal fluctuations in business need are accounted for - this will include planning of all annual leave and sickness cover.

Finally, you will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining stock supplies for the building, including white goods, laundry services, equipment and chemical supplies. You will need to ensure that all staff have received adequate training in the handling of all chemicals and equipment, so that the department is compliant with all Health and Safety guidance and legislation.

What you'll need to succeed

Your previous experience in domestic service processes will be essential to your success in this role. Ideally, you will have experience in a hotel or student accommodation type environment and will have had previous experience in leading a team. You will need excellent organisational skills, and will need to coordinate a team.

Your understanding and awareness of Health and Safety issues through appropriate training and practice - including risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling, working at height etc. You will also need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office IT packages. An IOSH managing safely qualification, or a willingness to train towards one, is highly desirable.
