The Role

A leading independent professional services firm with international offices are currently looking for a Senior Tax Adviser to be based in their Mayfair office. With a client base consisting of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and large corporates with complex international affairs, this role offers a high level of involvement in a variety of complex tax advisory projects. The firm is rapidly growing, with a recent influx of new clients, meaning you will be joining at a pivotal point, with a genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of the business.

The role is split between corporate and personal tax and will involve;

Business Tax

  • Share incentive schemes, including EMI schemes, approved and unapproved schemes, restricted shares and conditional share arrangements
  • Remuneration planning, including tax issues regarding termination payments
  • Company purchases of own shares
  • Management buy-outs
  • De-mergers and corporate re-organisations
  • Incorporation of partnerships
  • Expatriate Tax planning, including employment tax advice

Personal Tax

  • Tax planning for non-UK domiciles and persons leaving or arriving in the UK
  • Inheritance tax planning, including matters relating to international estates
  • Income and Capital Gains Tax planning
  • Taxation of non-UK residents
  • Tax efficient structuring of transactions such as sales of unincorporated businesses
  • Advice to sole practitioners on matters such as business property relief and business asset taper relief
  • Advising on UK residential property wrappers and de-enveloping corporate property holding structures
  • Corresponding with HMRC, clients and other third parties regarding the on-going management of the clients’ tax affairs

The Candidate

  • CTA/ ACA/ ATT qualified. Additional qualifications including STEP or ADIT desirable
  • Extensive experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
  • Able to work accurately, with excellent attention to detail
  • Experienced building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Excellent time management - able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Organised, proactive, good decision making skills
  • Awareness of KYC/ AML compliance
  • Able to maintain technical competence and keep up to date with new tax legislation
  • Excellent written/ verbal communication
