2nd line support/client support/application support/SQl/IIS

2nd line support/client support/application support/SQl/IIS required to join a leading trading company based in Birmingham. The role will require the candidate to have excellent customer oriented written & verbal skills. The candidate must be driven to ensure that each installed application delivers the functionality the customer requires and meets SLA's.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the key point of contact for the clients, maximising the customer value, ensuring SLAs are met, high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved and revenues generated
  • Provide effective/timely management of 1st and 2nd line technical support requests including regular support ticket update, problem replication and investigative work and customer communication via telephone, on site meetings and WEBEX
  • Provide high-level product consultancy to our clients and internal stakeholders, such as product configuration and training
  • Plan, deploy, configure and manage advanced Internet-based applications running on Microsoft Windows platforms ensuring support documentation is up to date
  • Undertake technical pre-sales work, assisting our Sales Managers in translating complex requirements into workable solutions

Key Skills:

  • Practical experience of supporting/troubleshooting complex web application/web server based software products
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server platform which includes Query writing/admin tools/performance analysis within the management studio
  • Experience of IIS including solid understanding of windows Servers
  • Understanding of networking/infrastructure; TCP/IP, DHCP(LAN, WAN, WIFI), VPN
  • Experience with Windows 7/Windows server 2008
  • Experience with MS Office applications, in particular Excel

£30000-£37000 plus 15-20% bonus and benefits
