Shift PCV Fitter

A leading Bus and Coach company have a number of permanent opportunities for PCV / PSV Fitters (Mechanics) at their Depot in Nuneaton and Rugby, Warwickshire.

Hourly Rate £13.62 to £15.72 + OT

The PCV / PSV Fitter (Mechanic) will assist Managers and Supervisors of the garage Engineering function to effectively maintain Company vehicles and premises in line with VOSA, Company and ISO 9001 :2000 standards.

The PCV / PSV Fitter (Mechanic) main tasks of the role are Carry out the following tasks below on the required or relevant Company vehicles in your garage and to any new vehicles your garage may acquire.

Diagnose defects and effect repairs to engine, gearbox, chassis, axles, steering and brakes. Fault diagnose, using specialist equipment relevant to vehicles in your garage. Welding (gas and mig) and gas cutting with the appropriate qualifications or training.

Repair vehicles to Company and Statutory standards. Repair defects and identify with vehicle types relevant to your garage or place of work. Prepare vehicles for Annual test (MOT). Carry out the servicing of all vehicles. Service vehicles in accordance with Company and vehicle Manufacturing specifications and to Company and Statutory standards.

Maintain documentation as per documented quality procedures. Demonstrate flexibility in line with operational requirements. Maintain good housekeeping and conform to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required

Experience in PCV or HGV is essential. City and Guilds Part 1, 2 and 3 in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies or BTEC equivalent (NVQ Level 3)

Apprentice trained preferable Health & Safety Responsibility To comply with health and safety instructions and directives issued by management. To use the appropriate safety equipment properly. To wear Personal Protective Equipment where applicable and report any loss. To ensure that all necessary safety precautions are taken and, if they are in a management or supervisory position ensure that instructions are provided.

Salary: £30,000.00 to £35,000.00 /year
