Principal SQL Server DBA / Database Administrator

One of Europe's largest and most profitable Cloud SaaS companies who specialise in innovative solutions for hospitality businesses are seeing a Principal SQL Server DBA. With a considerable investment in 2015, they are fast becoming the global leader in back-office SaaS for the hospitality industry. They do Cloud! They do Big Data! They do Mobile! With a 15-year track record of successful customer growth, this is an amazing opportunity for a Principal SQL Server DBA to come on board!!

This organisation hosts software for some 65,000 users globally and have a considerable pipeline of new initiatives including a Service Orientated version of our entire suite. We are looking for a Principal Database Administrator to manage the Production data platform infrastructure. Alongside setting Operational best-practice and ensuring it is adopted by the wider team, the Principal SQL DBA will be troubleshooting SQL Server service outages and interruptions as they occur, creating, configuring, and optimising alerting mechanisms to minimise SQL Server failures and interruptions.

You'll have sound knowledge of T-SQL in terms of coding stored procedures and you'll have used SQL extensively for data extraction and management. Currently, in the process of rolling out SQL 2016, you can expect to work on legacy versions from 2000 onwards, and experience in these versions, particularly 2016, would be a huge advantage. This is a hands-on role, but any management or team leadership experience will be very beneficial.

This organisation are going global and are heavily committed to growing our Infrastructure function as part of making this expansion possible. This means our database team is scheduled to increase considerably, presenting numerous opportunities for those who join it now. Amazing office with a warm, welcoming team. Apply now, this will not be around for long.
