You will have the ability to show the leadership team that you have an innate desire to be the best teacher that you can possibly be. The school want to recruit someone who has a passion for their subject which inspires pupils to explore new material and perhaps even take on the discipline in further education. The post is open to degree holders in all subjects but core subject degree holders are particularly welcome to apply.

About the Teaching Assistant role

As a Teaching Assistant your role will involve you joining the school in a general role, not assigned to any particular class or department and you will be helping students of all levels depending on where you are needed most. Nearer examination time, you will be required to help give those gifted and talented students who are aiming for Oxford or Cambridge the additional boost to help turn those B's at A-Level into A's. In this Teaching Assistant post, you will be joining a team of teachers who work well under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher. As a Teaching Assistant you will be starting to develop an understand on the best approach to teaching and developing your own style with the help of a thorough CPD and training plan. This training is complemented by your enrolment on 2 set PGCE Foundation modules which will expose you to methods of inclusive practice. In general, you will be helping the teacher to manage the differentiation of abilities within the class, offering an avenue of individual and group sessions for particular pupils. For a Graduate Teaching A ssistant who truly excels in their year with the school, there is the opportunity to continue on their School Direct teacher training programme.
