Conveyancing Fee Earner/Assistant
An exciting new vacancy has arisen for a conveyancing fee earner/paralegal to join an expanding busy residential property department.
You will be responsible for assisting in the management of a busy case load encompassing all types of domestic conveyancing freehold, leasehold, new build, registered and unregistered. Familiarity with case management and general IT literacy is essential as the successful candidate will be expected to do all their own typing including letters reports and emails.
The job will involve being one of the primary contacts for all third party communication with other solicitors, estate agents and clients and you must be confident in both oral and written communication. You will also be required to attend clients in the office
The day to day work of the role will include being confident to do all the following elements/tasks in a typical conveyancing transaction
1 Providing initial quotations
2 Setting up files
3 Dealing with clients, agents, solicitors on phone, email and in person
4 Preparing and sending out draft contract papers
5 Answering enquiries on sales
6 Raising enquiries and submitting searches on purchases
7 Attending clients for signing
8 Preparing reports on purchases
9 Exchanging contracts with sellers solicitors and all paperwork involved
10 Preparing completion paperwork on transactions
11 Dealing with post completion leasehold paperwork including notices
12 Knowledge to deal with land registry applications to register, stamp duty submissions and land registry requisitions
This role is offered on a provisional 12 months fixed contract with the opportunity to extend and would perhaps appears to an experienced paralegal or newly qualified. Salary will depend on experience.
