Chance to move into an office based role and focus on your already developed construction planning skills

Your new company

Our client is a large scale main contractor, with head offices based in Glasgow. With an ongoing stream of work covering the commercial build, refurbishment and civils sector, they are now searching to add to their team with a planner

Your new role

Working on a list of projects that will currently involve a series of new build offices, some civils work and several projects involving the public sector , you will be involved with the planning requirements for the organisations live sites. You will aid when required with tenders, and will be heavily involved with health and safety/ risk assessments.

A key member of the delivery team, you will communicate regularly with the management running the front end delivery of the sites, and will be comfortable assisting with clients as and when required.

What you'll need to succeed

Although not essential that you are currently working as a planner, it is important that you have been heavily involved in the programming and planning of construction works utilising MS project, Power Project or Primavera. You will have the methodical approach required to ensure that sites have achievable and accurate plans, and understanding of the full construction project life cycle.

If you are not currently working as a site manager, this role may suit an engineer who has been running stand alone jobs with complete planning responsibility, or a site manager/ project manager in a similar position who wishes to move into a more office based role. Any experience of NEC projects would be beneficial but is not essential.

What you'll get in return

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who enjoys the planning and programming elements of their role, and would like the chance to focus on that going forward. It also requires minimal travel, although occasional overnights may be required if assisting with sites based outside the Central Belt. You will have the support of an experienced planning team and manager, and will be provided with all training as required.
