We are looking for a very technical IT support person to join their expanding Managed Services team in Reading, UK. My client is a premier IBM partner in the UK for ITSM and you will be joining a team with global reach and unparalleled technical skills.

The role will be based out of our office in Reading however some home working may be considered.

The job is to perform daily support and management tasks and processes as identified by the Managed Services manager including:

Installation and upgrade of IBM and other vendor enterprise systems management products

Configuration and customisation to meet customer's specific requirements

Suggest improvements to the customer's environment

Development of management information reports as required

Knowledge transfer to customer's personnel

Analysing new products as and when required

Skills Profile

In excess of 2 years' experience in implementing, developing or consulting with the IBM Netcool software brand specifically:

IBM® Tivoli® Netcool®/OMNIbus

IBM® Tivoli® Netcool® Impact

Knowledge of at least 1 of the monitoring products;

IBM Tivoli Monitoring v6.x

Nagios XI

Zabbix 2.4

A minimum of 3 years experience of Windows (NT, W2K, W2K3), Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux or HPUX)

Proficient in writing UNIX Shell and Perl scripts

Some experience in the installation and use of at least one of the following relational database products (Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB2, MS SQL Server)

Some experience in writing SQL scripts

Ability to work as part of a team or in isolation

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills required

Willing to take direction from multiple individuals

Ability to prioritise multiple requests in order to meet deadlines

Must maintain professionalism, accuracy and timeliness

Must adapt to change and be flexible

Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with expected continuous improvement.

Self-motivated, team player with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Effective presentation skills

Other Requirements Must be willing to be on-call

You must have an existing Visa to work in the UK
