The Risk Data Analyst will join a small but busy Risk team with the objective to maximize the impact of Risk across the business by translating quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful insight, developing and recommending solutions that enable effective, accurate decision making whilst adding value.

The role-

  • Support the development and maintenance of the Group Risk System, responsible for ensuring that robust promotion and procedures are in place
  • Implement, understand and document detailed high level Group Risk data requirements using appropriate tools and techniques and translate these into a catalogue of risk source tools
  • Develop and support reporting process, delivering a seamless migration of data from all sources including data validation and cleansing
  • Produce data for inclusion in business as usual Risk Reports to support planned and tactical business requirements and facilitate the organisation to make strong strategic and risk decisions
  • Ensure that quality standards and integrity are maintained and data is provided in line with business requirements and agreed timescales and format
  • Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding risk reporting issues, including investigating data issues, resolving reporting errors and serve as a subject matter expert
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets to ensure that evaluations are robust and accurate
  • Drive the proactive identification of continuous improvement and process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and automation of processes
  • Support the Group Risk function with identifying any key trends, risks or opportunities and create models to forecast future circumstances
  • Mitigate data risk within the infrastructure, by pro-active, planned management and following industry best practice

Key Requirements-

  • Proven experience of using a Risk System in a large scale company (preferred in Banking)
  • Strong grasp of data analysis techniques, including Microsoft office, SQL and other data analysis tools
  • The ability to understand data and provide insight and analysis through clear and visual, written and verbal communication for stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to identify trends, extract and interpret data from multiple sources and investigate anomalies and unusual patterns/activities
  • Strong drive for quality assurance and proven track record in providing robust and accurate data
  • Strong process analysis and problem solving skills and ability to make recommendations based on findings considering business and risk implications
  • Excellent organization skills, including ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work to agreed deadlines
