An exciting opportunity has become available as a Capacity & Availability Manager within financial services based in Manchester. You will join a team of 8; however, will function in a standalone role within the function. You will have a lot of interaction with IBM and ensure that the right capacity is in the floor and that business demand is aligned. The role will include working closely with the service managers and IBM to ensure that there is a focus on commercial and service (i.e. challenging IBM on unused capacity and looking to reduce this). Other responsibilities will include forecasting and trend reporting.



*Exceptional Customer Management skills to be able to deal with Executive and Director levels

*Strong negotiating and influencing skills. Must be able to influence all levels of management to ensure Capacity and Availability issues and improvement activities are receiving the necessary support and are resourced sufficiently to implement solutions.

*Strong interpersonal skills. Must be a good communicator (written and oral) - must be able to interact successfully with all levels of the IT Operations organisation.

*Substantive experience in the field of IT Capacity and Availability management - committed to service excellence.

*Holder of ITIL Managers Certificate in IT Service Management or equivalent experience.

*A good understanding of IT Service Provision and qualifying factors in order to assess how customer requirements will effect delivery.

*Good planning and organisation skills.

*Facilitation and managing meeting skills.

*Practical experience of process management.
