South Farm in Shingay-cum-Wendy, is the leading venue in Cambridgeshire for Weddings and Special Occasions and with a good forward order book we are lucky enough to be able to offer secure long term jobs. We are in the fortunate position to be looking to add to our dedicated and hard working Kitchen team for 2017 and with over 220 weddings and large events booked for this year, our appeal is the idyllic country setting, superlative home grown food and fantastic planning and service. Our catering kitchen provide a wide and flexible selection of menus to our couples, created on site by our in-house team, using seasonal produce from our eight acre small holding, eggs from our chickens and pork from our kune kune pigs.

We are looking for a kitchen porter to join our busy kitchen team. Working days are varied and can include from breakfast in the morning, wedding breakfast service in the afternoon through to evening food. Along with site preparation on the morning of the wedding, kitchen preparation at the beginning of the day and the usual washing up and processing of glasses etc. during the day you will also be assisting in the preparation and plating up of dishes alongside our team of six chefs and other kitchen porters. Some food prep work will also be expected.
We are looking for a friendly and motivated member of staff to join our team who has a positive working attitude and is able to communicate well with other team members. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a busy and productive commercial kitchen.

The role is based on a 37.5 hr week however there is always a lot to do in peak times of year (April to September) so plenty more hours are available for those that wish to work more. The role will involve weekend and evening work. We are offering a salary of between £14,000 and £17,000 depending on age and experience including holiday pay and meals on duty when applicable.
