My client is a very successful retail company that is currently in a period of expansion due to their continuous success and ambitious plans for the future. Starting from a modest background of a market stall, they are now taking over the country with their mid-price point homewares and furnishings and establishing themselves as the ideal one stop shop for customers wanting to make their house a home.

About the job:
Right now they are looking for analytical individuals with an eye for detail to work in their space planning department. As a Space Planner you will be creating merchandising shelf schemes and plans for retail stores around the country. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of buyers and retail analysts to produce accurate merchandising plans that individual stores can implement. This job will involve figure analysis, space analysis and an understanding of different demographics around the country. You will get the opportunity to work with their bespoke Planogram software and communicate regularly with stores to ensure you maximise the space used on the shop floor. Based in the retail head office, you will become an expert with your department, producing layouts for upcoming seasons in a timely, methodical fashion.

About the ideal candidate:
Due to the nature of the role, to be suited to this position, excellent PC skills are essential as you will be on the computer on a daily basis, analysing figures, analysing space and editing planograms where appropriate. It would be advantageous if you have experience using Planogram programs however this isn't essential as training will be given. It would help your application if you can demonstrate an awareness of a planogram's function in retail so that you can get to grips with how they vary so dramatically store to store.
This is fast paced place to work so they are looking for somebody who is flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business. As you will be working so closely with other departments within the head office, a great team player will fit in well here as well as somebody who is confident to communicate with all members of staff up to director level.
To give yourself the best chance of success with your application, please ensure your CV showcases your skills and usage of software like Windows O/S, Microsoft Office Packages, Photoshop or equivalent and experience of other design software.

Salary and application process:
Holidays - 22 days plus bank holiday
Staff discount after completion of probation period
Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 08:45 - 17:30
