I am looking for a skilled, knowledgeable Purchase Ledger Supervisor to make an immediate impact within a Public Sector organisation.

Client Details

My client is a Public Sector organisation based in Dudley, which is easily accessible by car and public transport. They are a passionate organisation and the finance team in particular is small and close-knit, offering excellent support to staff.


The job will involve controlling the purchase ledger, and therefore building excellent relationships with colleagues, senior management staff and suppliers. Overall responsibility for payment will lie with this role, meaning cash flow must be managed effectively, supplier accounts must be monitored and up to date, and accurate month and year end accruals must be done as necessary. Accurate management information must be recorded covering all aspects of the role, and the position will involve line managing a Purchase Ledger Clerk and Finance Assistant .

Total control of the purchase ordering system will lie with this position; purchase requisitions must be reviewed to ensure all procurement for throughout the organisation is done in-line with procedures.


The ideal candidate must:

  • Be AAT level 4 or qualified by experience - essential
  • Have performed a role previously at an equivalent level - essential
  • Have excellent communication skills - essential
  • Have a background of working within education - desirable
  • Have a knowledge of Agresso - desirable
  • Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines - essential

Job Offer

The job is offering up to £26,000 for an outstanding Purchase Ledger Manager, with skills of working within equivalent roles previously. The organisation is easily accessible by Public Transport, and is a great environment to work in.
