An exciting job opportunity has arisen with a well-established and very successful fashion clothing company based in Greater Manchester. They are looking for an experienced outerwear garment technologist whose primary responsibility is to increase customer satisfaction by implementing and managing a technical/quality strategy for merchandise that delivers safe, fit for purpose products which maximise sales and profit and meets department KPI's.
Your new role
You will keep up to date with technical developments, communicating these to colleagues and providing technical advice and information so that technical innovations can be taken into account during product design and development Through technical research, interpretation of market information and quality benchmarking with recognised competitive set, contribute to product improvements by building initiatives that meet business strategy and customer requirements. Ensure consistent corporate product quality, sizing, fabric and colour standards are achieved across own brand product types within individual department; work closely with Technologists in other departments to achieve consistency across the whole product offer. In collaboration with Designers, based on concepts, design briefs, bought samples and corporate standards, deliver on time, clear, concise line level product specifications that define technical, legal, safety and manufacturing requirements to ensure that product is fit for purpose and exceeds customer expectations.
What you'll need to be successful
Ability to demonstrate a broad companywide understanding to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the business as a whole (commerciality). A comprehensive understanding of the customer and their drivers, market awareness of competition Thorough knowledge of production processes, including production and quality management in a manufacturing environment Good interpersonal communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal Good organisational and prioritising skills Good level of computer & systems literacy Ability to travel, within the UK, Europe and Asia.
