Job Description - Telephony Consultant

Home based with UK travel


  • Telephony solution consultancy
  • Communications / Telephony focused - though general IT skills will also be called upon.
  • Hands-on project based deployment and configuration activities.
  • Ranging from on customer sites to within our own UK offices
  • Problem solving skills called on to triage and help resolve any complications
  • Can work as part of a delivery team, or work individually
  • Working in partnership with other partner companies, and customer IT services
  • The successful applicant will need to be able to obtain UK Security clearance.

Essential Attributes


  • Broad Telephony / Communications Background
  • VOIP Experience
  • Comfortable working with software logs to triage issues and supply correct information
  • Experience and confidence with networking and the concepts within a wider Telephony solution
  • Experience of working with databases, comfortable with data manipulation via SQL
  • Microsoft Client/Server experience
  • Confident at producing quality and accurate customer facing documentation including authoring and production of diagrams

Desirable Attributes

  • Knowledge of Ericsson / Aastra Telephony Switches
  • Experience of database recovery and creation
  • Competent building and configuring servers utilising MS Server 2008/12/14
  • Competent with full MS Office suite up to advanced level with Word and Visio
  • Presentation / training skills and experience
  • Experience of working with Emergency Services organisations
  • Experience of working with Transport and/or Utility organisations
