Technical Pricing Engineer
Location: Coventry
Salary £32,000

As part of the Technical Pricing Team, the job holder will support the Technical Pricing Manager throughout all technical aspects of the vehicle design, specification and quotation process to ensure the vehicles meet customer expectations, legal compliance and suitability for purpose.

This role will ensure that technical approval prior to build commencement is given and management of any changes during the build and any pricing changes which arise from these is in line with the commercial arrangements of the business. It will also require close management and audits of our third party suppliers.

Technical Pricing Engineer Key Accountability's:

- Will provide technical guidance for requests from the sales function in relation to requests made to the technical pricing team. 
- Ensure that the most appropriate supplier has been selected from the preferred supplier listings, incorporating tendering and benchmark exercises with the procurement team when appropriate. 
- To ensure that commercially and technically, the best solution is specified and priced in order to provide the most competitive quotation to our customers and prospects in order to grow top line. 
- Attend meetings with customers and suppliers to determine the best fit of vehicle for the functional specification required.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Technical, Engineering and Commercial to provide the most effective solution to strategic bids. 
- To operate in line with agreed KPI’s and SLA’s. 
- Use evolved industry knowledge to provide innovative solutions for the benefit of the sales process. 
- To ensure that contract specific requirements have been met and achieve a satisfactory balance between viable commercial pricing and competitiveness in the market.
- Review and input capital costs for all elements of the quotations and to appropriately provide a maintenance budget for the life of the proposed agreement being quoted. 
- To actively leverage the supply chain to gain the most commercially acceptable pricing with the aid of the procurement department for maximum returns. 
- Will provide alternatives to the sales teams to aid my client in having the best technically priced solution. 
- Advise the sales teams, customers and prospects of the most suitable vehicles, terms and mileage to suit their requirements and this reduce the need for ‘quoting all alternatives’.

To be successful in this Technical Pricing Engineer role you will need to be/have:

- Must have a strong technical background/qualification in vehicle engineering (for example C&G or Institute of Road Transport Engineers qualified).
- Must demonstrate credibility through the ability to discuss and broker detailed technical solutions with internal and external stakeholders. 
- Must be commercially astute and numerate. 
- Experience of specifying costing and pricing commercial vehicles.
- To adopt a customer focused approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude. 
- Ability to question internal and external stakeholders and provide innovation.
- Posses a technical qualification in Automotive Vehicle Engineering. 

The hours of work for this Technical Pricing Engineer role are 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will receive a salary of £32,000.
