We have a rarely available opportunity to join the London office of a We are looking for individuals with exceptional software engineering and business consulting skills to join a fast moving startup, and take up a Solutions Engineer / Client Services Support role within their team, working with their customers to provide Support for their highly-available, Unstructured Data Discovery and Analysis platform.
For this demanding yet exciting role, the ideal candidate will be a strong client-facer, coming from an IT Operations / DevOps background, demonstrating commercial software development (Java or Python or Erlang or Ruby) / scripting experience, along with strong competence in Linux / Unix (CentOs preferred) Systems Administration.
With a strong aptitude for troubleshooting, you will be a highly-technical and intelligent problem-solver who genuinely enjoys digging into source code , or evaluation a network stack to gain a better understanding of how things work - to you, this is great fun!
The successful Software / Customer Services Engineer will investigate complex technical issues for clients, some that may never have happened before, therefore excellent technical aptitude and the ability to 'think outside of the box' is essential (As is the ability to remain calm and graceful under pressure). You'll be passionate about open source software, distributed systems and functional programming, and ideally have some exposure to data-storage (ElasticSearch, Redis, NoSQL, SQL, Big-data, Graph).
Other tasks include identifying, reproducing and documenting product bugs.
Competent in CentOs (Unix or Linux) system administration
Competent in a programing language - ideally one of Java, Python, Erlang or Ruby
A 'people person' who enjoys training, and helping people.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience using ElasticSearch, NoSQL, Graph or "big data" solutions
Experience with distributed systems
As mentioned, this is a largely customer focussed role, therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are absolutely essential for this London based start up wioth a superb pedigree!
