Role: Business Development Manager
Location: Field and Basingstoke HQ based
Salary: to £42,000 Base + 20% OTE + Car allowance + Pension

The Business development manager will be responsible for driving UK sales growth of the company via direct end user sales.

This person is expected to use their sales, applications and engineering knowledge to grow sales of the company's products in the UK market.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar Field Sales role and will be comfortable with regular travel throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive day to day sales. Own, manage and exceed UK end user sales targets.

* Order generation from existing and new customers to increase sales revenue and profit

* Develop and maintain key relationships with distributors and customers

* Provide technical/application/training support to prospects and customers.

* Development of sales pipeline, accurate and regular sales forecasting, exceeding monthly / quarterly / annual targets.

* Work with the wider sales and engineering teams where required to address customer application needs.

Measures of Success

* Maintain and grow a sales pipeline capable of delivering sales and growth targets.

* Forecasting and delivery of sales and growth targets against budget within UK.

Experience and Skills

* The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years proven experience as a Field Sales Engineer driving end user sales.

* Previous experience of sensing products and instrumentation in a related industry (test and measurement, aerospace, military and industrial applications) is required, electrical/mechanical engineering background would be highly desirable.

* Demonstrable record of driving and forecasting direct sales, applications selling, appointment setting, pipeline development, and closing sales.

* Good communication, collaborative and reporting skills. Experience of using CRM to prospect, forecast and report.

* Must be able to work well in an independent environment and be held accountable for performance including accurate and timely forecasting and sales delivery.

* Candidate must be a results orientated professional with self-confidence, discipline, exhibit perseverance, and a have a sense of urgency.
