We are looking for a skilled, highly motivated Web Developer to work within our busy Information and Technology Services department. Employed within an award winning “mobile first” web development team, you will develop flexible web systems that run beautifully on all devices.
What your role will be
You will act as lead developer for our Homes to Rent website and Online Services customer portal. These high profile systems are the focus of a dynamic programme of continual improvement. Although the systems are currently based upon ASP.Net forms, a complete MVC rebuild is scheduled for 2017. Working alongside other Web Developers, Designers and Business Analysts, you will play a pivotal role in this. As well as development responsibilities, you will also take a lead role in third line support.
The diversity and scope of the team’s portfolio is extensive, and you will have many opportunities to work on other sites and web systems. These range from feature rich brochure sites to content management systems and complex applications. You will have many opportunities to work with both Umbraco and SharePoint platforms.
You will have a proven track record of web development using ASP.Net (C#) MVC and forms, SQL Server, HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap and you will have experience of working within a project environment. A working knowledge of Agile Scrum is an advantage, but is not essential.You will have a portfolio of successful web sites or systems available to review.
The position relies on a good analytical approach to problem solving coupled with excellent attention to detail. Due to the nature of the role we need you to have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with colleagues at all levels, providing both verbal and documented responses of both a technical and non-technical nature.
