Java Developer - Asset Management - Central London - Salary Dependent Upon Experience

Do you have a passion for programming and technology? We are looking for a talented and ambitious Java developer, looking to join an established, highly academic, and technically strong team within a top investment management business based in Central London. You must have a Master's Degree or PhD, or a solid 1st Class Degree education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree, with a strong drive to take your career to the next level.


You must be proficient in Java, with a good understanding of Object-Orientated design and software development. Aside from the technical skills, you should be up-to-date with new technologies, and have a with a strong willingness to learn. Having a curious mind will serve you well in this position, as well as an open-armed response to new ideas.
Proficiency in JavaScript, or the willingness to learn it, is essential, as there is a strong drive to build JavaScript into the software.


·MSc. or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree.
·Object-Oriented design, and good software development practices.
·Excellent proficiency in Java.
·Experience working within an Agile environment.
·A Cooperative attitude, as this is a small, growing team. Cooperation is encouraged at every stage.
·Flexibility, and with an open-minded approach to new ideas.
·Ability to work and under variable workloads and pressure, handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
·Willingness to learn new technologies.

Some of the technologies we work with consist of Java, Python, R, JavaScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL. We will work with whichever tool is most appropriate!


·Modern Design.
·UNIX fundamentals.
·Proficiency with JavaScript.
·Pair-Programming experience.
·Familiarity with Finance Information eXchange [FIX Protocol] is an advantage
