A great opportunity has arisen for a Junior Web Developer (Drupal) for an animal related charity in order to help manage the codebase for a multi-lingual, Drupal 7 platform that is run and maintained by the international office for the global organisation. This will be a permanent role based in London.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Collaborate within an agile, multi-disciplinary global digital team including developers, content managers and digital experts.
Apply audience-centred and UX principles at all phases of project
Liaise with colleagues worldwide to improve and implement in-house tools to support all facets of the Charity s business.
Contribute to the implementation of the global digital strategy
Learn new technologies and apply these to projects as applicable, particularly new Drupal techniques and development to improve key feature updates
Ensure the successful delivery of updates and enhancements in liaison with our support providers and hosting company
Ensure integration with key systems into our codebase to improve supporter and editor experiences
Actively engage with local and cross0functional project teams across the organisation to solve issues for a variety of systems (mostly fundraising and advocacy)
Support Senior Web Developer in major development projects, taking on specific task in relation to theming, functionality and back-end development

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Relevant experience in developing sites with Drupal 7, including configuring standard modules such as Views, Taxonomy and Context writing custom modules, writing custom themes and building on base themes such as Zen while ensuring the stability of the system and the integrity of a codebase.
Excellent PHP skills, and a solid grasp of front end development, including CSS3, SASS,HTML5 and jQuery, and experience with MySQL.
Experience of working with version control systems (Git) and development procedures
Experience with responsive approaches to front and development and the challenges involved in creating pages that work well across a broad range of devices, including the development of responsive HTML emails.
Experience of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues.
A creative thinker and can apply UX principles at all phases in a project.
Experience managing development procedures and maintaining project documentation
Technical understanding of SEO principles.
Excellent written and verbal skills
