Are you a confident IT Support Engineer who is looking to work in a diverse and interesting environment?

This role will be providing 1st Line Support to internal and external stakeholders within the business.

We are looking for competent technical support staff that have excellent communication skills as this role is the face of the IT Department. The role will require logging and resolving issues for IT users. You will use a ticketing system to log and manage all incidents so experience with these systems is very important. You will also be very conscientious and will take ownership of every incident even if it has to be passed to 2nd or 3rd line support, ensuring that users are kept well informed and the issue is resolved within a timely manner.

The role will involve maintaining all the IT software, hardware, firmware and patches, and perform regular audits to help prevent future incidents and problems. You will also be involved with installing, configuring and supporting networked data, voice and CCTV systems, implementing desktops, telephones, mobile phones and laptops as well as maintaining necessary documentation to agreed compliance standards.

The company are a major transport business, based just outside of Birmingham. The role will pay up to £21,000 for the right candidate. They are close to local transport links, and offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Key Skills

  • Previous experience with 1st Line Support
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manor
  • Great analytical skills, with the ability to see incidents through to resolution
  • Ability to install, configure and maintain hardware, network, software, firmware and patches
  • Previous experience in supporting telephony, voice and CCTV systems
