A really exciting and interesting new job opportunity for an experienced and passionate Java Developer to join an established and growing specialist software company near Chippenham on a permanent basis. They work with an impressive list of clients from the UK and overseas. The position offers excellent scope for being a key part of the company's future expansion and success in their market, as well as taking real ownership of the development of core and new bespoke products.
Your new role
You will work as part of a small development and support team developing brand new customer requirements and bespoke products. You'll be involved from architecture, solutions design and development through to implementation and delivery, liaising closely with your colleagues and as it is a client facing role, communicating clearly and effectively both remotely and face to face, with key customer contacts. You'll take on responsibility, being highly responsive, owning the development, ensuring requirements and requests are met effectively and efficiently, delivering products of the highest quality, as the customer is at the heart of the company's design focus.
What you'll need to succeed
You are an experienced Java Developer with solid knowledge working with SQL and Eclipse, XML and Web technologies, as well as of version control and design patterns. If you have any knowledge of Linux or MySQL and Groovy, Ant, Jetty, or similar, this would be an advantage, but is not essential. You must enjoy being very hands on, be really passionate and driven about development, a natural solutions provider striving to work to your best ability and be user focused. You will be a confident individual, with great interpersonal and communication skills able to build strong relationships, able to make effective decisions, happy to take on ownership for your work, proactive and capable of working on your own initiative, as well as supporting other members of the team.
