We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Lead Migration Engineer for our Client based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving nightly migration events with delivery teams and ensuring readiness for evening migration events.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence that pre-migration activities have been completed
- Drive process improvement and streamline activities where applicable
- Ensure all migration workstreams, key stakeholders and external vendors complete their relevant tasks in a timely manner
- Carry out pre-migration and final migration cutover checks
- Drive overall progress and order of activities on migration evenings
- Escalate and manage the evening migration given any external outages or factors impacting migration
- Maintain audit trails of all migration events
- Ensure pre-migration checklists are complete as a pre-requisite for migration commencement
- Proactively undertake risk management where necessary and escalate issues to key stakeholders
- Ensure interdependencies are raised quickly and addressed from an operational perspective
- Communicate the migration status in preparation for migration activities

Essential Skills:
- 3 years professional experience in project management
- Knowledge of project management methods, standards and tools
- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders and managing their expectations
- Ability to work in collaboration with teams across the organisation
- Confidence to run conference calls and face to face meetings
- Experience managing the full life cycle of projects
- Hands on experience of MS Project/ Excel and SharePoint
- Be able to adapt with dynamic project timelines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions independently
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience of Robocopy

- Prince 2 Certification

- Ability to drive teams to get assigned work completed on time

- Able to work flexible and sometimes unsociable hours (when required)

Due to the business needs of this role the successful candidate must have existing security clearance or be able to attain security clearance. If applicants do not currently have security clearance they must have photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license, that is in date and reflects the applicants current address. Proof of address would also be required in the form of 2 bills dated within the last 3 months.
