Head of Application Support sought by leading scientific software house to manage a global team supporting the flagship product; a software to aid more rapid and efficient drug discovery for the Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals industry.

As Head of Application Support you will provide line management to engineers based in the UK, Poland and Shanghai as well as the Application Support Lead in the US; setting goals in line with company objectives, appraisals, training and career growth (no travel required).

Responsibilities will also include ensuring that SLA's are adhered to and high priority issues dealt with, acting as an escalation point for clients, ensuring that processes are followed and that remedial actions are taken. You'll pro-actively improve scalability and resilience by identifying issues and driving improvements in infrastructure, tooling and application design, working with teams across the organisation.

This Head of Application Support role presents an excellent opportunity to take on a high profile position within a successful technology driven company. Based in Central London, you will be working in a friendly, R&D team atmosphere with passionate, accomplished colleagues.

Requirements:
*Experience of managing software application support teams with direct line management responsibilities
*Strong technical background with a good understanding of databases (Oracle), SQL and Windows applications
*Strong experience in areas of incident, problem, change and release management
*Good understanding of ITIL principles; ITIL Certification preferable
*Methodical approach with meticulous attention to detail
*Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients and presenting to the board as well as the ability to motivate and manage others
