Not content with our huge growth in the UK, we’re now taking on Europe. Our International Trade team are in charge of building a range of products to sell in over 20 countries across Europe on our EU website. Join us and you’ll get to work alongside our own buying teams in the UK and Germany, our suppliers across Europe and the Kingfisher sourcing offices too. As a Buying Assistant in one of the most dynamic, unique and successful multi-channel retailers in the country you will use your drive and commercial insight to continue to drive our business forward.
The Buying Assistant role
Buying here is not just about strong negotiation. Yes, we always make sure we have the best products for the best prices but you’ll find that we do it by building great relationships with our suppliers. Your job will be to help us do that. You’ll work with our Senior Buyers, collecting information, researching new products, checking prices and talking to suppliers. You’ll be a key contact within the team by translating German literature/conversation into English for your team.
The skills you need as a Buying Assistant
You don’t need to have specific Buying experience – but you’ll need to be commercially minded and speak German! We’re looking for people who can hit deadlines and handle busy fast-paced environments. Your communication skills are top notch and you’re a natural at building relationships. You’ll need to be used to working with customers and you’ll definitely need a flair for multi-tasking.
