IT Applications Engineer - Birmingham

Oliver William Recruitment are looking for an IT Applications Engineer to join an international manufacturing company based in Birmingham.

Our client is an international manufacturing company working within the DIY industry and they are looking for an IT Applications Engineer with excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and a good understanding of ERP and eCommerce systems to support the IT Manager in the development of ERP, eCommerce and Business Intelligence systems.

As an IT Applications Engineer, you must be able to communicate at all levels, including with major shareholders. Applicants must be approachable, have an incredible level of attention to detail and must be extremely customer focused. All applicants must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft, QAD, Cognos and EDI applications.

As an IT Applications Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • To research and develop business systems solutions within the core ERP, eCommerce and Cognos applications.
  • To support the IT Manager in the delivery of the IT strategy plan.
  • To manage, support and provide end user support for the core ERP, eCommerce and BI applications.
  • To carry out development and implementation activities within the scope of any established systems and procedures.
  • To support the IT Manager in ensuring that established levels of systems availability and reliability are maintained.
  • At all times observe systems security both in terms of hardware and software.
  • To ensure the integrity of company data retained on the computer systems is maintained at all times.
  • Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy, and ensure these are adequately delegated in the absence of the job holder.

This is a full-time, permanent position, between the hours of 8:30am - 4:45pm, and the company are looking to pay a salary of between £40,000 per annum plus bonus, with an excellent benefits package.
