Our client is currently seeking an Intermediate Java Developer. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the Java development life cycle and will have practical experience designing, configuring, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based applications, online portals, and internet marketing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
*Hands-on knowledge of building web applications
*Front-end development experience using JavaScript and jQuery
*Demonstrated proficiency of SQL and relational databases
*Experience configuring and deploying Linux-based websites
*Experience building and integrating CMS-based websites in Java
*Writing code and unit tests, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing
*Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement
*Working with product managers to prioritize features based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues
*Proactively analyze situations and champion innovative solutions for the selection of new or improved methodologies, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving objectives.
*Collaborate with other team members and partners in the design, implementation and support of new services and features to meet the business needs.
*Work on call and other duties when required or requested.

Required Skills
*Experience developing high quality Java code
*Experience using Fortify
*Experience using Rational Suite
*Experience using Web Logic AS
*Cross-browser HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript/jQuery expertise
*Knowledge of open-source development and contributions are a plus
*The successful candidate will be self-organized, capable of moving forward on multiple projects at the same time. Attention to detail and flexibility are also key qualities. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relation-ships with co-workers, partners, vendors and the public are required.
*Solid understanding of file structures
*General knowledge of communication protocols
*Must be a team-oriented person with excellent analytical skills
*Must have experience with agile / scrum management tools
