Due to their continued growth, this successful construction organisation just outside Birmingham City Centre, is looking to recruit a new IT Manager. Reporting into the Managing Director this role will provide ICT user support (hardware/software) in a windows environment, either face to face or over the telephone and manage the installation & maintenance all hardware/software and networking equipment within the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Must be knowledgeable and confident in making both hardware and software-related decisions on behalf of the Group

• Experience with Servers and Microsoft exchange essential

• Fully supporting, configuring, maintaining and upgrading networks and in house servers

• Installing and integrating new server hardware and applications

• Ensure network security and connectivity, along with maintaining server uptime

• Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords

• Responsible for administering and implementing all computer-related technologies, including network security, Internet operations and software upgrades

• Recommending and implementing computer hardware, software and programs

• Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring analysis, performance tuning and troubleshooting network problems

• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies

• Experience in router configuration including port forwarding

• Experience in hardware / software installation and network configuring

• Looking after the smooth running of computer systems to ensure maximum efficiency

• Manage any outsourced suppliers such as website hosts, and email hosts.

• Ability to communicate at all levels, and help staff where necessary to overcome problems with their pc’s or emails, tapping into our suppliers where necessary.

• Set up a simple check process for users to trouble shoot simple pc related issues themselves.
