Finance Officer

Salary: £32,500 including excellent benefits

Full Time: All Year Round Position

ORP are recruiting for a Finance Officer qualified at AAT Level 3 minimum and experience of using Sage (ideally Sage 200) you must have experience of working within school finance ideally ideally within an independent school.


  • Process transactions through the purchase ledger for the College and trading company
  • Work closely with the trading company to ensure accounts are maintained in accordance with accounting principles
  • Check and process invoices accurately
  • Organise payments to suppliers and process employee expenses in a timely manner (BACS and cheques)
  • First point of contact for all purchase ledger queries
  • Organise payments to suppliers on a timely basis (BACS and cheques)
  • Be the first point of contact of purchase ledger queries
  • Assist with processing of fee income
  • Assist with processing of fee charges on a termly basis
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Processing of monthly depreciation journals
  • VAT returns in consultation with the College Accountant
  • Processing month-end reports and reconciliations
  • Assist with banking of charity collections
  • Ensure administrative duties, checks and documentation are completed to the required level of accuracy including returns and reports
  • Maintain both manual and computerised record filing systems in line with audit requirements
  • Draft replies to queries in a timely manner ensuring confidentiality and compliance is maintained
