Job description

We are a company ideally located in the Birmingham, West midlands. We supply an impressive range of Luxury Passenger Transport Vehicles. After a few years successful development, we are ready to step into next stage. In this case, we are looking for a database developer to join us and get involve maintaining the company’s database systems including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events and documentation. Additionally, we are expecting this skilled role is able to help us with software development under the collaboration with third party providers to control and monitor the stock & sales by connecting internal and external resources we’ve developed successfully. The following are the detailed job description:

  1. To create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning;
  2. To monitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise;
  3. To maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users)
  4. To use tools like SQL profiler for database tuning. Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them;
  5. To develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication;
  6. To support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures;
  7. Designs and implements innovative software applications using up to date techniques and software methodologies;
  8. Constantly provides operational documentation in line with subsequent support and training for internal and external users.

Qualifications & Skills (Essential & Desirable)

  1. Degree level qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  2. Project management and planning experience would add advantage.
  3. Development and management of an integrated critical path schedule of work
  4. Database development skills including design, testing and development
  5. Knowledge in SQL Server integration Services (SSIS), SQL Service Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  6. Knowledge in other relevant areas may also add advantage with discretion.
