Registered Nurse | Norfolk

We are currently working with a leading organisation in Norfolk who are looking to appoint a Registered Nurse. They are on the lookout for a Registered Nurse to continue to provide excellent care in line with legislative and regulatory standards whilst supporting and mentoring other staff

Essential skills and experience

- Current NMC registration

- Minimum of one year of post-registration experience

- Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet service user needs

- Ability to record information accurately and in a timely manner

- Demonstrable experience in the provision of high quality care

- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

- Appreciation of, and adherence to, the NMC Code of Conduct (2015)

- Administration, storage and disposal of medicines in line with the NMC Code of Conduct (2015)

- An appreciation of legislative issues surrounding care (e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act) and the importance of the regulatory body

- Ability to work autonomously and within a team

- Utilises resources to provide up-to-date evidence based practice

- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

- The ability to liaise with a multi-faceted multi-disciplinary team

- Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage a heavy workload effectively

- The ability to plan and prioritise work and time effectively using own initiative

- A commitment to best practice in line with the NMC Code of Conduct (2015)

- Resilience when working in a challenging and complex environment

The role will involve:

- Ensuring adherence to the Code (2015) and evidence-based best practice, and escalating where it is identified that this is not happening

- Adopting a person-centred approach and empowering service users to make their own choices and be as involved in their care as possible

- Continuous assessment of service users' physical and psychological needs

- Administration of end of life care in line with company policy and national guidelines

- Liaise with the Unit Manager to ensure that staff levels and skill mix reflect the requirements of the organisation

- Understanding of Health and Safety, and ensuring that a safe environment is maintained at all times

- Staying up-do-date with service user care plans and understanding legal requirements around them (e.g. DNARs)

- Assessing potential clients for suitability for admission, whilst liaising with a multi-faceted multidisciplinary team (GP, Local Authority, client and family, funders, etc.)

- Thinking holistically and creatively to enhance service users' physical and psychological wellbeing through appropriate activities and practices

- Participate on the on-call rota if assessed to be competent

- Escalating complaints and concerns appropriately
