Senior Tax Consultant
Some tax professionals aspire to have their own client base and the autonomy that comes with a senior role of responsibility.
Those who have already built their empire might want a change of culture; one that recognises your way of working and appreciates your results.
Either way, moving on can seem like a risk but with the support and culture of this large regional practice behind you, you'll feel empowered to make this move a success.
My client is one of the region's leading independent firms with sites across Yorkshire. The business offers their client base multiple service lines including forensics, audit, business services, corporate finance and recovery as well as one of the region's heavy weight tax advisory teams based from Leeds.
Well known for creating and retaining high-calibre senior tax professionals, this tax advisory team has grown steadily over the last decade. Growth has also come from talent attracted away from top 10 accountancy firms (both private client and corporate) validating the teams place as a leading tax presence in Yorkshire.
My client puts the success of this team down to the flexibility they offer individuals, recognising that strong results can be achieved via different methods according to the strengths of each individual.
This high trust, high performance culture will give you room to breath and support to develop.
As Senior Tax Consultant you will take on an existing portfolio of SME businesses across Yorkshire advising owner managers and board members on all relevant tax planning requirements including how best to structure their businesses, deals and change projects.
You will be expected to demonstrate business development activities although with a busy department, this will not be a priority.
According to your preference you can also take on a junior staff member to develop although this role has traditionally attracted accomplished, self managing tax professionals wishing to act independently.
Client relationships are paramount at this practice and a proven strategy for growth and success. You will therefore be required to maintain a visible presence on site (2-3 days per week across Yorkshire) with your clients to identify further needs.
My client is open minded about their new recruit as the Senior Tax Consultant role can be tailored according to your background and seniority.
We would like to hear from successful and experienced Tax Seniors who have already had exposure leading a SME client portfolio and who can demonstrate a broad (but not complete) range of tax advisory skills.
Another route is available for a more established senior tax professional, looking for a business which will offer them freedom to operate under their own judgement and methodology.
We are by no means looking for a maverick but if you can demonstrate success and a breadth of exposure in previous roles similar to this, you will enjoy both freedom and support.
Candidates will ideally be ATT qualified at least. You will be supported through you CTA qualification
This Senior Tax Consultant role offer between £40,000 to £55,000 according to experience.
