Application support/2nd/3rd line/Client support/SQL/IIS

Application support/2nd/3rd line/Client support/SQL/IIS required to join a leading Trading company based in Birmingham. The ideal candidate would have experience in working within an application support environment with a real focus on client support.

This customer oriented role will including aspects of Release Management, Incident Management, Application Support and Customer Service Support.


  • Plan, deploy, configure and manage advanced Internet-based applications running on Microsoft Windows platforms ensuring support documentation is up to date
  • Undertake technical pre-sales work, assisting our Sales Managers in translating complex requirements into workable solutions
  • Contribute actively to internal projects and company initiatives. Train and mentor junior team members. Help evolve the team's processes and policies
  • Provide high-level technical consultancy to our clients and internal stakeholders, such as product configuration and training
  • Ensure all requests are carried out in a professional, disciplined, efficient and process oriented manner, working on process improvement initiatives when required.

Key skills:

  • Practical experience of supporting/troubleshooting complex web application/web server based software products including SLA reporting
  • Good understanding SQL Server 2008 and above which includes Query writing/admin tools/performance analysis within the management studio
  • Experience of IIS including solid understanding of windows Servers
  • Understanding of networking/infrastructure; TCP/IP, DHCP(LAN, WAN, WIFI), VPN
  • Experience with Windows 7/Windows server 2008 and above
  • Experience with MS Office applications, in particular Excel
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise and deliver multiple tasks whilst under pressure

£35000-£45000 with 15-20% bonus plus added benefits
