AWS Infrastructure Manager - Norwich - £40k-£43k

Our client is looking to strengthen its operational capabilities by recruiting an experienced Infrastructure Manager with specific expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The AWS Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the company's AWS estate including cloud hosted servers, storage, networks and firewalls.


* Advise and assist with infrastructure design and contribute to AWS architecture strategy

* Provide advice and guidance on appropriate and effective use of AWS products & services to maintain class-leading levels of resilience, performance and security.

* Provisioning and maintenance of servers and related Cloud-based resources (storage, networks, VPN, firewalls etc)

* Secure and maintain access to networks, data and servers according to internal policies and industry best practice

* Implement, manage and enhance service and resource monitors to provide pre-emptive alerts and real-time monitoring of cloud-based systems and services

* Provide cost-effective management of the AWS estate

* Support, diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues related to the AWS estate

* Prepare activity and service level reports

* Manage external supplier(s) to deliver quality, performance and value for money

* Provide up-to-date subject-matter expertise on AWS products and services

* Candidates will need to demonstrate managerial experience and strong technical skills, be an excellent communicator with customer focus. A keen desire to learn and improve is required as is the ability to work on your own initiative.

Technical Skills required:

* Amazon Web Services

* VPC, Elastic Beanstalk, Storage Gateway, Route53, EC2, Elastic Search

* Scripted deployment using CloudFormation or equivalent

* VPN IPSEC Tunnels

* IP and Networking - including VLAN

* Microsoft Windows Server OS

* Linux - CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu administration

* Experience in using software tool(s) (preferably JIRA) to manage operational issues and tasks

* Exposure to configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet or Cloudformation - and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins

* Scripting experience - primarily PowerShell

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Problem analysis and problem-solving

* Planning and organisational skills

* Knowledge and experience of customer service practices

Highly Desirable:

* AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

* AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

* Experience of the Insurance industry (especially Motor Claims) would be beneficial

* ITIL qualification preferred

* Good technical knowledge gained in a Microsoft Office environment (preferably Office365)

* Checkpoint firewalls

* Microsoft Active Directory - DNS/DHCP/GPO/LDAP

* Office 365

* Apache/IIS/Tomcat
